5 Free Online Marketing Tools for Small Business

These days every small business needs tools to start their internet marketing campaigns. Is not always easy, most of the tools out there are being targeted to professionals or enterprise-level business. For a small business owner, spending a large sum of money is not always doable.

From personal experience and from searching the web, I found those tools that are completely free or have a free version.

Answer the public

answerthepublic

This is one of the newest tools I’ve discovered. Answer the Public is completely free. I try to use this tool when I’m trying to determine new topics and answer questions when I write a new blog post. This way, the blog post will be more likely to rank since it answers the questions that the visitors have.

Screaming Frog

screamingfrog
Screaming frog is my to-go tool when I try to crawl a website. While is not free, they have a free version that can crawl up to 500 pages. For a small business with a small website, this is most of the time more than enough. This tool finds broken links, checking your redirects, analyzes page title and meta data and much more. If you end up using the tool on a daily basis, support the developers by buying screaming frog.

Siteliner

siteliner

Siteliner is a quick tool that helps you find duplicate content. Like Screaming Frog, they limit the amount of pages you can crawl, but for a small website is more than enough. They can help you with but not limited:

  • Duplicate content
  • Common content
  • Average page size
  • Internal and External Links

Google Keyword Planner

Google’s Keyword Planner is a great resource when you try to find new keywords for your pay per click campaigns or for SEO reasons. I use the “Get Search Volume Data and Trends” to see what people are searching for each month. From there you can build a campaign around the keywords that you decide are the best to go after.
