You’re Losing Money. We Can Prove It.

Shopify Store Audit Services

Our Shopify Store Audit is a comprehensive diagnostic of every revenue lever in your store: performance and Core Web Vitals, SEO foundations, UX and conversion blockers, checkout flow, analytics setup, and the platform-specific Shopify gotchas that quietly leak revenue from stores running otherwise smoothly. You get a prioritized action plan with effort estimates and impact projections, organized by ROI, so you know exactly what to fix first and what to deprioritize. Read our Shopify Store Audit Checklist for the framework we use on every audit engagement.

What Is Shopify Audit?

A Shopify store audit is a structured diagnostic of your Shopify storefront and backend, covering technical performance, search visibility, user experience, conversion mechanics, and platform-specific configurations. The output is a written report ranking issues by impact and effort, so the merchant knows which fixes will move revenue and which can wait. Unlike a generic “site audit,” a proper Shopify audit accounts for platform quirks like collection filter duplicate content, app-injected script bloat, theme version drift, and the structured data gaps that ship by default in most Shopify themes.

You’re Not Getting The Sales You Expected

DWhen a Shopify store underperforms, the causes are usually distributed across many small issues compounding into significant revenue loss. A good audit identifies all of them in one pass, ranks them by impact, and gives you a clear sequence for fixing them. Our audit covers, at minimum, these areas:

  • Shopify-Specific Issues: duplicate content from filters and tags, app-injected script conflicts, theme version drift, structured data gaps, analytics setup
  • Website Performance: Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), mobile speed, theme bloat, app script weight, and image optimization gaps
  • Navigation and Information Architecture: menu clarity, product category structure, internal linking, search and filter UX
  • Design and Visual Hierarchy: brand consistency, above-the-fold messaging, product page layout, hero section clarity
  • SEO Foundations: indexability, canonical setup, structured data, title tags, meta descriptions, collection page architecture, sitemap health
  • Conversion Rate Optimization: hero CTAs, product page conversion mechanics, cart drawer UX, checkout flow, social proof placement, post-purchase upsell setup

What You Get From a Shopify Store Audit

A Core Web Vitals audit covering LCP, INP, and CLS scores on both mobile and desktop. We identify the specific bottlenecks dragging down your store speed: render-blocking scripts, unoptimized images, lazy-load failures, app injection conflicts, and theme JavaScript bloat. You get a prioritized list of speed fixes ranked by ms savings, with implementation effort tagged so you know what is a quick win and what requires a developer engagement.

Improve Search Engine Optimization

A technical SEO audit covering indexability, canonical setup, sitemap health, structured data coverage, collection page architecture, internal linking, title and meta optimization gaps, and the Shopify-specific issues that affect organic visibility (duplicate content from tag and filter pages, missing schema on product pages, theme-level header structure). For deeper ongoing SEO work after the audit, see our Shopify SEO services.

Increase Conversion Rates

A conversion audit reviewing every step of your customer journey: landing page hooks, product page conversion mechanics, cart drawer UX, checkout flow optimization, post-purchase upsells, abandoned cart recovery, and the trust signals that lift conversion rate at every stage. You get specific A/B test recommendations ranked by likely lift, so the next round of CRO work is grounded in data, not guesses.

Get An Unbiased Opinion

A fresh, outside perspective on what your store actually communicates to first-time visitors. Founders and internal teams develop blind spots over time. Our audit team approaches your store the way your customers do: cold, on mobile, with a buying decision to make in under 30 seconds. The disconnect between what you think your store says and what visitors actually perceive is often the single largest revenue leak.

How the Audit Works

1. Scoping Call

We start with a 30-minute scoping call to understand your business goals, current pain points, and the specific revenue questions you want answered. We review your top traffic sources, conversion data, and the parts of your store you suspect are underperforming, so the audit focuses on what actually matters to your business.

2. Audit Execution

Our team runs the audit across all six categories (performance, SEO, navigation, design, CRO, and Shopify-specific issues) using a combination of automated tools and manual review. Performance gets measured with Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and PageSpeed Insights. SEO uses Screaming Frog and live SERP analysis. UX and CRO involve manual click-through across desktop and mobile.

3. Report Delivery

You get a written audit report (PDF and shared workspace) with every finding documented, prioritized by impact, and tagged with implementation effort. Each issue includes a recommended fix and a rough impact estimate. We deliver the report within 5 to 7 business days of scoping.

4. Walkthrough Call

We walk you through the report on a video call, answering questions and clarifying any findings that need context. You decide what to fix internally, what to engage us for, and what to deprioritize.

5. Optional: Implementation

After the audit, most clients move into one of our project services or our Shopify Support and Maintenance Membership to implement the recommended fixes. The audit report becomes the initial task list, so implementation kicks off without re-scoping. Engagement is optional, never required.

Shopify Audit FAQ

Common questions from Shopify merchants considering a paid store audit. If you don’t see your question here, reach out and we’ll get you an answer.

How long does the audit take?

A complete Shopify store audit ships within 5 to 7 business days of the scoping call. Larger catalogs (over 1,000 products) or stores with extensive app stacks may extend to 10 business days. We deliver the report as a written PDF plus a shared workspace, followed by a walkthrough call to clarify findings and answer questions.

What’s included in the audit report?

The report covers six categories: website performance (Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile UX), SEO foundations (indexability, structured data, on-page, technical issues), navigation and information architecture, design and visual hierarchy, conversion rate optimization (product pages, cart, checkout, post-purchase), and Shopify-specific issues (filter duplicate content, app conflicts, theme version drift, schema gaps). Each finding is documented with a recommended fix, implementation effort estimate, and impact projection.

Who is the audit best for?

The audit is best for established Shopify stores with at least 3 months of traffic and sales data. We need real customer behavior to identify what’s working and what’s leaking revenue. New stores with no data yet should run our Shopify Store Setup service instead, where audit thinking is built into the launch process. Stores generating between $250K and $10M annually are typically the highest-ROI audit candidates, since they have enough traffic to validate fixes but enough room to grow that even small lifts produce meaningful revenue.

Do you implement the fixes after the audit?

If you want us to. The audit stands alone as a deliverable, with no requirement to engage us for implementation. About 70 percent of audit clients move into one of our project services or our Shopify Support and Maintenance Membership to ship the fixes. The audit report becomes the initial task list, so implementation kicks off without re-scoping.

How is your audit different from a free tool like PageSpeed Insights?

Free tools tell you what is broken. They don’t tell you which fixes will move revenue, what to prioritize, or how to actually implement the changes in a Shopify-specific way. A Lighthouse score is a starting point. Our audit translates that score plus dozens of other signals into a prioritized action plan grounded in your store’s specific traffic patterns, customer behavior, and revenue model. It’s the difference between a diagnostic readout and a treatment plan.

How much does the audit cost?

Cost depends on the size of your store and the depth of the audit. We send a fixed-fee proposal after the scoping call, so you know exactly what you’re paying before any work begins. Reach out for a free scoping conversation and we will quote your specific audit.

Are you based in Atlanta, and do you work with clients outside the city?

Yes. Soda Web Media is headquartered in Atlanta, and our Shopify audit clients are based across the United States. Scoping, audit execution, report delivery, and walkthrough calls all happen remotely via video and shared workspace.

Ready to See Where Your Shopify Revenue Is Leaking?

Book a free scoping call. We will ask about your store, your goals, and what’s been concerning you. You will leave the call with a clear understanding of what the audit will cover and a fixed-fee proposal, no commitment required.
