Naked Bites, a health-conscious treat baking company founded by two lifelong friends, needed a vibrant online home to showcase their clean, date-sweetened snacks. Our objective was to design and develop a brand new Shopify storefront using the Shapes theme. We collaborated closely with the founders to capture their brand’s fun, wholesome aesthetic, ensuring their mission of offering delicious treats with zero added sugar was front and center. The project focused on custom theme development, automated marketing integrations, and creating a scalable technical foundation for future growth.

Customized Theme & Brand Aesthetic
To bring the Naked Bites brand to life, we utilized the Shapes theme as our foundation, extensively customizing it to achieve the founders’ vision. We designed and coded four entirely new theme sections tailored specifically to highlight their crave-worthy flavors, like Peanut Butter & Jelly, Toasted Coconut, and Chocolate Cookie Dough, as well as their real-ingredient philosophy. Existing theme sections were also carefully modified to match the playful yet clean visual identity of the storefront.
Lifecycle Marketing & Email Integration
Understanding the importance of customer retention and conversion, we connected the store with Klaviyo to establish robust email marketing automation. We designed and implemented critical flows, including abandoned cart and abandoned checkout sequences, to recover potentially lost sales. Furthermore, we completely overhauled the standard Shopify transactional emails, such as order confirmations and shipping notifications, ensuring that every post-purchase customer touchpoint reflected the brand’s unique voice and design.
Scalable Version Control
To support the brand’s ongoing development and safeguard the technical health of the store, we implemented a version control system using GitHub. This approach allowed us to meticulously track all custom code changes, modifications, and new section developments. By maintaining the storefront’s codebase in GitHub, we provided a streamlined, secure workflow that ensures future updates and aesthetic tweaks can be executed easily without the risk of losing custom functionality.
