WordPress has a built in feature that allows the webmaster get notified when a comment has been posted and is waiting for approval. This option comes in handy when the blog is new, and you might want to engage with the users as soon as possible. If you are tired of those notifications/reminders, you can turn them off.
The first thing you need to do is to login into your WordPress dashboard. On the left side, search for Settings -> Discussion. This will take you to the page where you can disable the email notifications.
Scroll down and you are going to see “E-mail me whenever”. You have two options:
- anyone post a comment
- a comment is held in moderation
Unchecking those options will disable comments notifications. If you do this, don’t forget to check your comments and approve or mark them as spam.
